ATV Episode 15: The Value of a Dedicated Service Department

Posted July 23, 2018

At Amsted, having a dedicated service department means we are there to provide you with superior service beyond your renovation. In this final episode of our ATV series, President Steve Barkhouse explains the benefits of that dedicated service department.

Our service department is comprised of specialists in their field who are dedicated to upgrades, repairs and service work only. It’s very different when you go into a home where someone is living and provide them a service such as a roof repair versus a large-scale renovation. Accommodations need to be made for the family living there, the communication is different, and the whole process is different.

We haven’t always had a dedicated service department, but after years of people calling looking for smaller projects, upgrades, repairs and service work and pulling people from our staff to get that work done, we knew we had to do better for our clients. By having a dedicated service department, those specialists can get out there in a timely fashion, get the work done and do it cost effectively.

With our five-year warranty and our commitment to clients for life, the service department is a necessary part of that. In order to keep people happy all the way through the warranty period and beyond, we need to be able to get to those projects, repairs and upgrades in a timely fashion. The service department is not distracted by other projects; they are there to service that warranty.

The department offers a range of services, including:

  • New trim
  • Flooring
  • Painting
  • Ice damming repairs
  • Heating
  • Ventilation, and much more.

Initially, the service department was there solely for past Amsted clients, but as they’ve referred us to family and friends, we are now happy to take a call from anyone. If you’ve got a need, give us a call.
