ATV Episode 11: The Value of the Job Showing Meeting

Posted May 28, 2018

A meeting we call the job showing is an important part of the process for a successful renovation. We hold this meeting for our clients before the final drawings and construction contract are completed, and in this latest video, President Steve Barkhouse explains why.

The job showing is done to bring together all members of the team on site. Whether in-house members or sub-contractors for specialty work, everyone reviews in detail each of their specialties so that they are best prepared to perform the work in a seamless fashion.

At this stage we also do a forensic inspection of the home to identify any potential issues, including:

  • Asbestos testing
  • Thermal imaging
  • Structural conformation

And we’ll look into the floors and wall systems to make sure that the work we’ve proposed to this point can be done the way we’ve planned it.

By having this meeting, we ensure that everyone is on the same page before work begins. We personalize the service for the homeowners wishes and needs, including incorporating agreed upon changes so there are no surprises or expensive changes later on.

Now, with an accurate scope of work and budget, you’re ready to begin!
