Is Amsted President Steve Barkhouse Superman? Maybe not, but we couldn’t resist having some fun with this photo of him that’s popped up on the latest cover of Canadian Contractor magazine. After all, we think he’s super!
The photo is in connection with a two-part series in which Steve talks about the importance of both mentoring to help guide you on your business journey and building a strong team so that you don’t have to do it all yourself when you run a company.
Both of those points are key to Amsted’s philosophy.
“When I think of my team now and how many hurdles, holes or ditches that I am able to help them avoid, it’s because I’ve already done that and I have already made that particular mistake,” Steve says in the article.
He acknowledges how helpful it would have been when he was starting out almost 30 years ago to have had a mentor he could count on for really good advice. That’s part of the reason it’s so important to him to give back now.
